Conventional Toner vs Chemical Toners

The manufacturing of traditional mechanical toners involves melting, extrusion, grinding and classification. It is energy and capital intensive process. Below, pictures of chemically produced color toners particles and conventional toner particles are shown. Compared to chemically produced color toners for printers, the conventional toners produce poor prints for the following reasons: -

  • Particle size is too large
  • Particle shape is irregular and difficult to control
  • Poor incorporation of key ingredients, e.g. wax, CCA etc.
  • Particle size distribution is wide
  • Improper charge

Chemically produced color toners Toners overcome these problems. Instead of grinding large millimeter sized particles into small sizes for conventional toner, the Chemically produced color toners particles are prepared by attaching (aggregating) lots of nano particles (50 – 500 nanometer) together. There are several names for the Chemically produced color toners technology – Emulsion Aggregation Toner (EA), Chemical Color Toner (Chemically produced color toners ).

What is Eco-Neev?

Eco-Neev is a patented diesel fuel additive that reduces fuel consumption and reduces harmful emissions.

What is the mixing ratio?

1 ltr. of Eco-Neev is added in 4000 ltrs of diesel.

What is Eco-Neev? More Technical

Eco-Neev contains nanoparticles of Cerium Oxide which is a well known fuel catalyst. Cerium Oxide is the active component in catalytic converters found in exhaust tail-pipes of vehicles. By making nanoparticles of Cerium Oxide, we are able to add directly to fuel so that we get efficiencies in fuel combustion.

How is Eco-Neev Used?

NAND ipl has optimized the Eco-Neev dosage to approximately 5 – 10 ppm (parts per million). This means that the dosage quantity is in the ratio of 1L of Eco-Neev to 4000L of Diesel. As Eco-Neev is a liquid formulation, it can be simply added (poured) to the fuel tank of an individual vehicle, fuel depot tank or fuel supply tanker. Eco-Neev disperses easily – there is no need to provide any additional mixing.

How does Eco-Neev Work?

It works in two ways. Firstly, by improving fuel combustion, it improves the fuel efficiency (i.e. more useful work is provided from combusting the same amount of fuel). Secondly, the nanoparticles penetrate the carbon deposits in the engine chamber and with the catalytic effect help to remove the carbon deposits. Cleaner engine leads to further fuel efficiencies.

Why should we use Eco-Neev?

For three reasons. It gives you fuel economy benefits – an average of 7% reduction in fuel consumption has been reported by our customers. In India, we have demonstrated saving of approximately 10% (in public transport sector). Secondly, it gives significant environmental benefits e.g. 3 tonne Carbon Dioxide saving per tonne of fuel saved, at least 25% reduction in smoke / particulate matter and at least 10% reduction in emissions of harmful gases. Thirdly, it helps to keep the engine and components clean of carbon deposits, enhancing engine life.

Benefits of 7% or so can be obtained just through style of driving, season, load, servicing of engine etc. Why should we use Eco-Neev?

Eco-Neev gives you a 7% benefit on top of any other improvements that you may carry out. For example – on same route, load, style of driving etc, if you had some buses with Eco-Neev and some without, the group with Eco-Neev will show you a 7% benefit versus the non-treated group.

There are lots of fuel additives on the market. How is Eco-Neev different from these additives?

As far as we know, Eco-Neev is the only fuel additive that is a fuel combustion catalyst and also that it is a nanoproduct. All other additives are either dispersants, detergents or lubricating agents – none of these additives are able to withstand the temperatures in the combustion chamber and hence are not effective in the combustion chamber.

How about diesel available such as ‘Speed’,’Xtra Mile’ etc.?

Oil companies add dispersants, detergents and lubricant additives for the automobile (cars) retail market. There would be an extra 7% benefit if Eco-Neev is added to even these fuels.

Can Eco-Neev cause damage to the Engine?

No. We have done extensive industry standard tests to prove that there is no damage to the engine or any of the other components. We have no reports of any damage from any of our customers.

Does use of Eco-Neev invalidate Engine Warranties?

No. Diesel with Eco-Neev has the same specification as that of the standard Diesel (i.e without Eco-Neev). This is sufficient to cover OEM Engine Warranties.

Do OEM Engine Manufacturers approve the use of Eco-Neev?

Generally, Engine Manufacturers do not officially approve or disapprove any additives. All the standard industry testing we have carried out and certification from our customers should satisfy any concerns regarding engine damage.

Can you provide the results of the standard industry testing?

Yes. We have a technical performance document that describes all the tests and their results.

Any endorsements / certification from existing customers?

Yes, we have certification and letters from several of our existing customers. We can give you a copy of these letters. These customers can be contacted by yourself to verify the benefits.

Why aren’t you approaching Oil Companies to adopt your product?

We are. However, our strategy is to first engage large end users of Diesel and then move onto the Oil companies.

If it is such a great product, why is it not being used more widely?

Eco-Neev has been commercialized recently (last 2 years or so). In this market / industry, everyone wants to do a trial to be convinced about the benefits of Eco-Neev. Trials are time consuming and costly – therefore adoption is slow. The pace of adoption is increasing rapidly as we build our customer base.

How are the trials done?

Generally, the trials are carried out with two groups of vehicles/equipment with one group being treated with Eco-Neev and the other without Eco-Neev (control group). However, we design trials in discussion with our customer – the details of the trial depend on the type of vehicle/equipment, the way they are used/operated and the review of their fuel consumption data.

We are a big user of diesel. Would you be able to supply us if we adopt the product?

Yes, we have plenty of current capacity. Also, we can expand easily if needed.
